Summer School Overview

This 5-day summer school, intended primarily for students, postdocs, and other junior researchers, aims to bring mathematicians and physicists together to better understand the role of algebraic geometry in high-energy physics, with a particular focus on applications of algebraic geometry to string theory and mirror symmetry and of physical techniques to enumerative geometry and classification of algebraic varieties. Topics will include topological and homological mirror symmetry, constructions of Calabi-Yau varieties, moduli spaces of curves and Higgs bundles, quiver varieties, integrable systems, algebraic structures arising in string scattering theory, mathematical consequences of M-theory and F-theory, and topological recursion.

The summer school will consist of special guest lectures and mini-courses by leading experts in their resepective fields. We hope that the lectures and mini-courses will foster interactions and discussions between established and junior researchers. The format of the summer school is designed to encourage questions and discussions.

All of the summer school activities will take place at the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon, Canada. Accommodation is available on campus and registration includes access to the conference dinner.
