Paul Pennington is the lab manager for the Cell Signalling Laboratory (PI: Darrell Mousseau). He got his education through SIAST in the Biotechnology program in 2005. For a couple years he polished his Biochemistry and Tissue culture techniques at PBI/NRC in Saskatoon before joining the Mousseau lab in 2008. He continues to use his biochemistry skills as well as adding many other skills to his repertoire, such as microscopy, cell culture and animal-based work. He also helps to train many students (high-school, honours, graduate). Over these years some of the main points of research have focused on pathways and protein interactions that could be important in understanding the cellular events associated with Alzheimer's disease, particularly how it relates to cellular events and signalling pathways that are central to clinical depression.
