Kaeli Knudsen earned an Honours Bachelor of Science degree in Biology at the University of Saskatchewan in 2016. After this was completed, she immediately began working towards a Master's degree in the Biological Psychiatry program under the supervision of Dr. Darrell Mousseau and Dr. Carlos Carvalho. The focus of her Msc. project is to study a link between depression and Alzheimer disease. Specifically, if different types of antidepressant drugs influence the accumulation of β-amyloid, a protein thought to have pathology in Alzheimer disease, using Caenorhabditis elegans and cell culture as models.
